Traditional Russian Baby Names
One of my social media management clients is one of America's leading Russian merchandise websites. I've been working for them for over a year I'm naturally becoming more education about Russian culture. Before then, I hardly even knew where Russia was but I knew that is was very big, can get very cold and they make those cute little nesting dolls*. Well, of course there's a lot more to it than that. The architecture alone is enough to make me want to go jet there right now! Look at that!
* = FIY: Those dolls are call matryoshkas and they can get quite large and extravagant!
The Russians are a group of naturally talented people who excel in folk dance, music, ballet, art and sometimes just being pretty! Um, hello. Have you seen the Russian women? No bad! Not bad at all!
When I do my client's social media posts, I strive to make sure their content is as factual and as authentic as possible because I'm posting as them. I spend a lot of time looking for popular content to share like history articles, fun Russian language videos and funny stories to make their accounts more personable so it doesn't seem like we're just pushing products. Including fun tidbits about Russian culture in their posts has increased their popularity and following greatly! So with all of that being said, in all the articles I've read and videos I've seen, I've come across a lot of Russian names that make me go, "Hm, I kind of like that!"
So if you know me, you should know that when I come across a lot of unique names, I compulsively begin making one of my famous baby naming list!
Russians name their children common European names like David and Sophia, so I'm going to leave those names out. They also have more complicated names that you might not dig or might not even be able to pronounce like Feofilakt and Zhannochka so I took the middle road and rounded up over 100 unique and easy to pronounce Russian names to choose from for your little one.
ENJOY!
