Well, look who's making a rare appearance on my blog! It's my two year old daughter, Cedar!
Cedar recently received a very special gift that appears to be an ordinary lamb doll but there's so much more to this little darling toy.
Lucy the Lamb, or "Sheep" as Cedar has simply renamed her, was ethically handcrafted by female artisans in Peru and distributed by the family-run and charitable company, cuddle + kind.
For every doll that is purchased, cuddle + kind gives 10 meals to school-children in need through their partners, World Food Program USA and Children's Hunger Fund.
Not only do they help to feed children in need, they also provide fair income to the Peruvian artisan who make the dolls.
When children in less fortunate countries receive a free meal at school, they are more likely to attend classes, their performance improves greatly and sadly for many children, that's the only meal they will receive for the day.

There are 17 different adorable dolls to choose from including mermaids, cats, bears, reindeer and even Lucy's super cute male counterpart, Sebastian. All dolls are are completely non-toxic, made with natural cotton, meet US and Canadian safety standards and are embroidered by hand.
